Daeheugsan

The most remote inhabited island in the Dadohae Marine National Park, accessible by ferry from Mokpo, is home to a forest of ancient camellia trees that canopy the mountain trails in flowering red in February. This secluded paradise, even less visited than Jeju Island, supports a fishing village of just 200 residents operating the most sustainable abalone aquaculture operation in Korea, producing over 50% more premium abalone per square meter than the national average.
