Lee Hi's low, textured, jazz-influenced contralto is among the most distinctive voices in Korean music, a real departure from the higher, brighter vocal style that dominates the mainstream. Her music, including the EP '4 Only,' has leaned into a moodier, more adult pop-R&B sound than most of her K-pop soloist peers, built around her voice rather than around elaborate choreography or concept.
