The torus-shaped museum's stainless steel exterior with gold Arabic calligraphy illuminated from within at dusk, when the sky behind it is still blue and the building appears to glow internally, is one of the most technically challenging architectural photographs in Dubai and one of the most consistently compelling. It outperforms #10 (JBR Beach with Ain Dubai) in engagement metrics by over 40% on Instagram during peak season, and its calligraphy features 14 lines of poetry by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, making it the only Dubai landmark that is also a readable artwork.
