Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)

Snake plant is an architectural stunner that converts CO2 to oxygen at night, a unique trait among common houseplants, making it a better bedroom companion than pothos. It survives weeks without water and handles everything from bright indirect light to near-darkness, with stiff, sword-shaped leaves reaching up to 4 feet. NASA included it in their Clean Air Study for removing benzene and formaldehyde. Overwatering is the only threat—one drenching every three weeks suffices, whereas the ZZ plant below prefers even drier conditions.
