The easygoing Ficus. Grows into a striking 8-foot indoor tree.
Unlike its drama-queen cousin the fiddle-leaf fig, the rubber plant is the easygoing Ficus. Its thick, glossy leaves come in deep green, burgundy, and variegated varieties. It tolerates lower light than most Ficus species, bounces back from missed waterings, and can grow into a striking indoor tree reaching 8-10 feet. Wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them shiny and it'll reward you with decades of growth.
