Copy Fail Linux Vulnerability (CVE-2026-31431)
CVE-2026-31431 ("Copy Fail") is a high-severity Linux kernel local privilege escalation vulnerability, rooted in a logic flaw in the kernel's cryptographic subsystem (the algif_aead AF_ALG interface) that was silently introduced in 2017. It affects virtually all major Linux distributions running an unpatched kernel from that period onward and demands immediate patching.
