John Lennon recorded ‘Imagine’ in three hours in his home studio at Tittenhurst Park in May 1971, and the song has since become the most-requested peace anthem in history — played at the opening ceremonies of the 1996, 2000, and 2016 Olympics. Certified Diamond by the RIAA (over 10 million copies), it is performed at an estimated 50 major peace events or ceremonies per year, faster than the average peace anthem's adoption rate of about 20 events annually.
