Napoli's 1987 and 1990 Serie A titles, plus the 1989 UEFA Cup, were driven by Diego Maradona, one of the most dominant individual talents in the sport's history. Under Ottavio Bianchi and Albertino Bigon, they broke the northern clubs' hold on the title with a fraction of their rivals' budgets, relying heavily on Maradona's creative output.
