Red (1981) — Black Uhuru
Black Uhuru's album produced by Sly and Robbie won the first ever Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1985 and brought reggae into the mainstream 1980s rock audience. Its combination of militant Rasta lyrics with Sly Dunbar's drum machine and Robbie Shakespeare's thunderous bass created a blueprint for digital reggae.
