Richard Ashcroft's masterpiece sampled the Rolling Stones' The Last Time, leading to a legal dispute awarding 100% of royalties to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for 23 years — until 2019 when they voluntarily returned the rights. It reached number two in the UK and is consistently ranked among the greatest songs of the 1990s.
