Swedish-American pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis broke his own world record for the 10th time with a vault of 6.25 metres in the Olympic final to claim gold. The 24-year-old defending champion raised the bar literally and figuratively, producing what vaulting coaches called the most technically perfect jump in the event's history.
