Franz Schubert
Schubert wrote over 600 songs (Lieder) and 9 symphonies in a tragically short life, dying at 31 in 1828, with his Symphony No. 8 and Winterreise landmarks of Romantic expression. His Unfinished Symphony remains one of the most performed incomplete works, with 3,500 annual global performances.
