Buddy Guy

Buddy Guy is the last surviving Chicago blues giant, an 8-time Grammy Award winner whose electrifying stage presence and stinging Stratocaster tone became a direct template for Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. His 1993 comeback album "Damn Right I Got the Blues" sold over 500,000 copies, reviving his career and introducing him to a new generation. Guy's guitar work is faster than the average Delta player, exemplified by his 1965 single "Stone Crazy" which peaked at #12 on the R&B chart. His Legends club in Chicago remains a mecca for fans, yet his commercial peak arrived later than #7 Elmore James, who had a #1 R&B hit in 1952.
