Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

44 goals in 52 games — 38-game PL season record. UCL 2019. 4x African FOY. PL Golden Boot twice.

Mohamed Salah scored 44 goals in 52 appearances in the 2017–18 Premier League season — the most in a 38-game season ever — winning the Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year. He has won the Premier League (2020), Champions League (2019), FA Cup (2022), and Carabao Cup (2022) with Liverpool. He has been named African Footballer of the Year four times, tying Samuel Eto'o for the most awards. He became the first African player to win the Premier League Golden Boot twice. His conversion of a penalty against Chelsea in the 2022 final while carrying an injured shoulder has become one of sport's greatest displays of mental fortitude. His 44-goal season is 20% more than any other African's best Premier League scoring campaign.
