Jean-Pierre Papin

Wikipedia lists 54 caps, a 0.56 average and a career from 1986 to 1995. Wikipedia’s leading-scorers table, correct as of 25 September 2026, lists Papin as a forward with 30 goals, 54 caps and a 0.56 average, career 1986–1995. The 0.56 average is higher than Zidane’s 0.29 and close to Platini’s 0.57, but the 30-goal total is one below Zidane and the 54 caps are about half of Zidane’s Wikipedia cap count.
