Arantxa Sanchez Vicario was the dominant force in women's tennis throughout the 1990s, winning four Grand Slam singles titles: three French Opens (1989, 1994, 1998) and one US Open (1994). She became the first Spanish woman to win a Grand Slam singles title and reached world number 1 in 1995. Renowned for her extraordinary retrieval skills and fierce competitive nature, she also partnered with Conchita Martinez to win multiple Grand Slam doubles titles.
