The car that proved electric vehicles could be mainstream. Launched in 2017 at $35,000 (eventually), the Model 3 became the best-selling EV in history with over 2.5 million units delivered by 2024. It outsold the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, and Audi A4 — combined — in the US market. The minimalist interior with its single 15-inch screen was polarizing, but the 0-60 in 3.1 seconds (Performance variant) shut up every skeptic. Tesla's Supercharger network gave it the one advantage no competitor could quickly replicate.
