Rye, sweet vermouth, bitters. New York in a glass since the 1870s.
Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and a couple dashes of Angostura bitters, stirred and strained into a coupe with a cherry. Born in 1870s New York, the Manhattan is the Old Fashioned's sophisticated older sibling β richer, more complex, and the drink that taught America vermouth isn't just for cooking. Use good rye and real Luxardo cherries or don't bother.
