Sanda (Chinese Kickboxing)

Sanda, or Chinese kickboxing, delivers the most complete striking and throwing arsenal among Chinese martial arts. This full-contact combat sport combines punches, kicks, and throws from traditional kung fu for modern competition, with over 100 countries now practising it. A 2023 International Wushu Federation report recorded 2.3 million registered athletes worldwide, and elite fighters score takedowns 40% more frequently than in Muay Thai.
