Up to 25 pounds. Chirps instead of meowing. Plays fetch. Loves water.
The "gentle giant" of the cat world, Maine Coons can reach 25 pounds and 40 inches in length. Despite their imposing size, they're famously sociable, playful well into adulthood, and known for chirping and trilling rather than meowing. They love water (unusual for cats), play fetch, and walk on leashes. Maine Coons are the breed that makes people say, "that's not a cat, that's a small dog in a fur coat."
