USA beat England 1-0. Newspapers thought it was a typo. The biggest shock of 1950.

England were playing their first ever World Cup and were 3-1 favourites against a US side that included a part-time postman. Joe Gaetjens' header gave the USA a 1-0 win that was so unbelievable that English newspapers assumed the result was a misprint — many editors changed the score to 10-1 before publishing.
