Penfolds Grange

Penfolds Grange is Australia's most celebrated wine, created in 1951 by Max Schubert against company wishes. This Shiraz-dominant blend from Barossa Valley was listed as a South Australian Heritage Icon in 2001. It is the only New World wine included in Christie's 'Liquid Assets' fine wine investment portfolios, a distinction that makes it faster than the average wine to appreciate in value, with recent vintages retailing for $800-$1,500 per bottle.
