Cable Girls (Las Chicas del Cable)

Cable Girls is Netflix's most purely enjoyable period piece: four telephone operators in 1920s Madrid navigating love affairs, workplace sabotage, and the early stirrings of Spanish feminism, all wrapped in gorgeous Art Deco production design. It never takes itself as seriously as prestige TV, and that's its charm — this is comfort television dressed up as history, the kind of show you put on when you want plot without dread.
