Takoyaki

Takoyakis are the undisputed king of Japanese street snacks, delivering a perfect balance of crispy golden batter and tender octopus in every bite. Invented in Osaka in 1935 by street vendor Tomekichi Endo, Osaka alone produces over 1 billion takoyaki annually, far outpacing the 80 million bowls of udon served yearly in Kagawa, proving its mass appeal. Served piping hot with sweet sauce, creamy mayo, and dancing bonito flakes, each ball contains roughly 2.5% real octopus for a satisfying chew.
