Munich's most beloved beer outsells all other brews in the city's beer gardens and halls, Augustiner Helles is a golden lager with exceptionally soft malt character and delicate hop bitterness. Brewed at the city's oldest independent brewery founded in 1328, it uses traditional wooden barrels for lagering that impart a creamier mouthfeel than steel-aged rivals.
