Humpback whales breach in 85% of summer cruises, tidewater glaciers calve blocks the size of a car every 20 minutes, and bald eagles perch on nearly every shoreline tree. A single week in Juneau can yield 16 mammal species and 200 bird species—compared to the Caribbean's sparse 30 bird species and few marine mammals.
