Dominique Wilkins, known as the Human Highlight Film, delivered windmills and two-handed power jams with a ferocity that ignited the 1988 Dunk Contest against Michael Jordan—a showdown still debated for its intensity. Wilkins achieved a vertical leap of 42 inches, 4% higher than the average dunker, and scored a 49.5 average in that contest, just shy of Jordan’s 50. His power dunks accounted for 73% of his career dunks, cheaper in effort than #4 Julius Erving’s finesse-based style. No one matched his raw force.
