Xcacel-Xcacelito, Riviera Maya

Xcacel-Xcacelito, located between Tulum and Xel-Há, is the most ecologically significant beach on the Caribbean coast due to its federal protection as a sea turtle nesting site. It offers the finest snorkeling in the Riviera Maya without requiring boat transfers, thanks to a cenote freshwater spring that feeds directly into a pristine coral reef. In comparison, Playa Miramar lacks any similar snorkeling access. The beach limits daily visitors to 300 people to reduce stress on nesting turtles, which lay approximately 1,500 eggs per season.
