Los Alerces National Park

Los Alerces National Park boasts the world’s second-largest alerce tree, standing over 60 meters tall and estimated at 2,600 years old, offering a direct link to prehistoric Patagonia. Its glacial lakes, like Lake Menéndez, cover 55% of the park’s 263,000 hectares, providing exceptionally clear waters for kayaking. The ancient alerce groves, protected since 1937, showcase a living forest.
