Lanin National Park

Lanin National Park is defined by its namesake volcano, a 3,776-meter perfect cone that towers over ancient araucaria araucana forests, some trees exceeding 1,000 years old. The park protects 412,000 hectares of Patagonian steppe and Valdivian rainforest, including the only araucaria stand in Argentina. Its hiking trails are 20% less crowded than those in #3, with 60% of visitors sticking to the base of Volcan Lanin alone. This creates a quieter, more authentic exploration than the typical Patagonian park.
