Overseas Highway (Florida Keys)

113 miles. 42 bridges. Seven Mile Bridge over open ocean. Key lime pie at Mile 0.

The Overseas Highway delivers one of the most spectacular ocean crossings on wheels — roughly 113 miles from Key Largo to Key West over 42 bridges suspended above turquoise water. The Seven Mile Bridge alone offers unobstructed sea views in both directions, creating the surreal sensation of driving on the surface of the ocean. The route follows the path of Henry Flagler's Overseas Railroad, completed in 1912 and destroyed by the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane; the modern highway that replaced it opened in 1938.
