Grammarly
30M daily users. Works everywhere. 50B suggestions/year. Transformative for non-native speakers.
Grammarly runs as a browser extension and keyboard that checks grammar, tone and clarity wherever you already type — Gmail, Docs, Slack, LinkedIn — rather than in an app you have to open. The free tier covers spelling, grammar and basic clarity; Premium adds tone detection, full-sentence rewrites and plagiarism checking. The company reports around 30 million daily users, and across 2024-25 it acquired Coda and Superhuman and installed Coda's Shishir Mehrotra as chief executive.
