The Figure Skating Team Event -- A New Standard
The team figure skating event reached new heights at Milano Cortina, with the United States and Japan tied entering the final segment -- the men's free skate. Ilia Malinin's free skate performance secured the gold for Team USA, while Japan's Yuma Kagiyama and Shun Sato anchored the men's singles segments in the silver-medal effort. Far from a foregone conclusion, the event came down to the very last performance of the competition.
