Alysa Liu Sweeps Both Figure Skating Gold Medals

No skater has ever won both the women's singles and the team event gold at the same Olympics -- until Alysa Liu did it at Milano Cortina 2026. She rallied from third place after the short program to beat Japan's Kaori Sakamoto by 1.89 points in the free skate, becoming the first American woman to win Olympic figure skating gold since Sarah Hughes in 2002.
