Caterpie

Caterpie, the plump green larva Pokémon, holds the distinction of being the tenth Pokémon in the National Pokédex, following Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise. Introduced in 1996, this Bug-type Pokémon is notable for its rapid evolution, transforming into Metapod at level 7 and then into Butterfree at level 10. While its initial Base Stat Total (BST) of 195 is among the lowest in Generation 1, Caterpie provides a unique early-game advantage for trainers. Its evolution into Butterfree grants access to a versatile movepool, including status-inducing moves like Sleep Powder and Stun Spore, which can be invaluable in early battles despite Butterfree's own modest BST of 395.
