Ekans, the Snake Pokémon, packs surprising offensive punch for a Poison-type with 288 base stats. A 30% chance to poison with Wrap can wear down bulkier foes, making Ekans a threat in early-game battles. Though frail at 35 HP, it compensates with a respectable 45 Defense and the ability to learn Earthquake via TM, giving it coverage against Rock-types. Compared to Pidgey, Ekans trades raw Speed for superior Attack, allowing it to secure KOs that Pidgey cannot.
