Gifu Prefecture's mountain beef. Grass-fed alpine cattle. ¥5,000-8,000 per 100g (cheaper than Kobe). Tender, well-marbled. Served grilled (teppan) or in sukiyaki hot pot. Takayama town specializes in beef restaurants. Spring/autumn peak season.
