gofundme

GoFundMe is a prominent crowdfunding platform that has facilitated over $30 billion in donations from more than 150 million donors since its inception in 2010. In 2024 alone, the platform recorded 42 million donations to individuals and 23 million to nonprofits, with an average of two donations made every second. The platform offers a straightforward process for creating and sharing campaigns, enabling people to quickly reach a broad audience for support, and it has served over 70,000 nonprofits. While GoFundMe has been instrumental in providing financial relief for countless individuals, it generates revenue through voluntary 'tips' from donors and a standard transaction fee deducted from each donation to cover payment processing.
